Become a Business Partner:
Step It Up, Inc. (SIU) is continually looking for new Business
Partners to provide part-time summer internships for capable and qualified
students who are interested in pursuing specific careers. Our
Internship Program is different in that we match our students with an
internship experience in their chosen career field. For example, if a student
wants to become an architect we will match them with an architecture
firm. Our students succeed when they are given a chance to pusue their
career interests.
Through the years SIU has established community, business, and institution partnerships to recruit and place those students who have career aspirations but need assistance in pursuing their goals. Since 2004, the SIU Internship Program has recruited high school students who have career interests in: Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacology, Public Safety, Interior Design, EMT/ Paramedics, Forensic Science, Law, Computer Science, Cosmetology, Medicine, Nursing and Business.
Existing SIU Business Partners, who are all impressed with the ability and enthusiasm of their interns to learn and participate at work, include: GLUMAC (engineering), LRS Architects, Inc., Lloyd Center Pharmacy, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Safety Center, Associated Design Consultants, Inc., American Medical Response (AMR), Bio-Medical Research Center/OHSU, Stoel Rives Attorneys at Law, eROI (e-Marketing), Phagan’s School of Hair Design, Providence Portland Medical Center, OMSI, Portland Farmer's Market and The Oregon Humane Society.. By 2010. SIU is planning to be assisting fifty or more young adults with career and education achievement until the age of 25.
Join Us in supporting capable students to achieve their career
dreams by becoming a Step It Up, Inc. Business Partner. SIU pays the
studen's' stipend and the business provides an on-site mentor for training

Become an Adviser
Step It Up, Inc. is continually in need of experts in their field
to assist us in effectively and efficiently governing and managing the
organization. With technolgy, tax laws and organization needs
constantly changing, we would like to talk with you about your ideas. Email

efforts to recruit and match students from all Portland Metropolitan area
schools. Students who need assistance in achieving their long-term
